HYDRABRASION IS A DYNAMIC PROCESS COMBINING CLEANSING, EXFOLIATING, WASHING AND DIAMONDS TO GIVE YOUR SKIN THE STAR TREATMENT IT DESERVES. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE TRADITIONAL MICRODERMABRASION, THIS PROCESS IS MUCH GENTLER ON THE SKIN AND MUCH LESS IRRITATING, PARTICULARLY THOSE WITH SENSITIVE SKIN.
How does Hydrabrasion work?
Hydrabrasion utilises an exclusive Minivac system with a diamond tip of adjustable strength to customise the exfoliation of your skin to a suitable level without damaging the surface in the way of traditional exfoliants and peels.
The process is two-tiered with the first step involving exfoliation and vacuuming of the dead skin and pore blockages to slough off the top layers of the epidermis. The second step involves washing off the skin using the same Minivac system to cleanse out the pores with water and further remove any impurities. The skin is left squeaky clean and fresh with little to no discomfort and minimal downtime. There is generally some redness experienced afterwards and it’s best to leave the skin clean afterwards so we recommend having this treatment done after work or on weekends to allow your skin to breathe after such a deep clean!
Treatments can be carried out as often as every two weeks, and regular treatments are recommended to keep your skin in optimal condition, however you will see a dramatic difference to your skin immediately after your first treatment. You may notice some redness post treatment, but this rarely lasts more than 24 hours. We recommend not using any makeup or active serums immediately post treatment in order to allow your skin to settle. You may experience a little photo-sensitivity also so it’s always best to avoid direct sunlight, as with most of our other skin treatments.
We particularly love this treatment as it means you are not exposing your skin to any harsh chemicals that are likely to strip your skin of its natural oils or mess with pH levels. So if are at all unsure about what is involved in all those products used during facials, this is the perfect treatment to play it safe but still achieve maximum effect.
Take a nap!
The technology is a very gentle treatment that doesn’t hurt. You probably could take a nap while the treatment is being done.
Your skin will be cleansed, then a small diamond tip that is attached to a mild vacuum cleaner is worked over your skin to exfoliate it and to remove dead skin. Once the blockages are cleared from the pores and follicles, a deeper clean can be achieved. This is when we wash it to clean out the build-up.
Treatment time
The treatment only takes about 30 minutes, but long enough to wash out every pore. Once the diamond tip is finished, you will have a second treatment with a water system, this will wash out the pores and follicles to ensure the best skin wash ever.
Maintain your results
Maintenance is achieved by cleaning your skin twice a day, exfoliating at least once a week, and continuing this treatment a minimum of once a month. The moment you get sight of a blind pimple, blackheads or a nasty pimple about to break through, it’s a sign you need another treatment! Excellent home care will also keep you looking and your skin feeling its best!
